We are an accelerator and co-investment platform specialized in the sports sector, innovation, and technology. We provide the necessary resources to support the growth of projects within the sports world.
Our Origin
The birth of SportBoost dates back to May 1, 2019, when Iker Casillas suffered a heart attack. During his recovery process, he met Manuel Marina, a cardiologist at the CSD, who had founded a startup called Idoven.
Idoven uses Artificial Intelligence algorithms combined with wearable technology to detect heart problems early and non-invasively. Iker, impressed by the project, decided to personally get involved as an investor and ambassador. Two years later, SportBoost emerged with the aim of supporting the growth of leading companies in the sports sector through our industry knowledge and a broad network of contacts.
At SportBoost, we focus primarily on three key areas:
Investment: We invest in projects related to sports, nutrition, and health at early stages (seed or Series A), both nationally and internationally. Our investment tickets typically range between 50,000 and 250,000 euros.
Project Acceleration: We accelerate the projects in our portfolio, providing support in nearly every aspect of their business to help them move to the next level.
Open Innovation: We collaborate with different partners in the sports sector to offer innovative solutions and tailor-made projects.
Our Portfolio and Partnerships
Currently, we have more than 10 startups in our portfolio, including Idoven, Indya, Playtomic, and Crossmint. We have co-invested more than 2 million euros alongside athletes and business angels. Additionally, we have co-investment agreements with Wayra (CVC Telefónica) and Gasol16Ventures (investment vehicle of Pau Gasol), to invest in projects related to health, sports, and well-being.
We also collaborate on innovation projects with LALIGA, having conducted challenges in areas such as fan engagement and Artificial Intelligence.
