After five years of success running clinics and programs in Spain and Dubai, the Iker Casillas Academy is crossing the Atlantic and beginning its journey in the United States. With the mission of expanding its network of young talents internationally, the Academy is designing and developing a series of programs with local coaches in California, thus creating new opportunities for the development of football in the USA.
FIRST CLINIC IN CALIFORNIA
The first Iker Casillas Academy clinic in the United States was a great success, with nearly 40 male and female players aged between 10 and 18. Over the course of three days, the young athletes enjoyed a preparation based on a unique methodology, including sessions on mental health and nutrition, as well as a special visit from Iker Casillas to the Westminster High School facilities in collaboration with AMSG Fútbol Club.
The clinic was conducted by a team of eight professionals and led by Diego de la Rosa López, Co-Director of Methodology at the Iker Casillas Academy, who has extensive experience as a professional coach at clubs such as Atlético de Madrid, Elche CF, Hércules, Unión Adarve, and Eldense.
THE ICA FLIES TO INDIANA
The Iker Casillas Academy made its debut on the East Coast in the state of Indiana during July 2024 with a four-day clinic in collaboration with Sogility Westfield, gathering more than 50 participants.
The team of seven professionals was led by our Academy Methodology Director, Juan Canales, who has 15 years of experience as a professional player and 8 seasons as a goalkeeper coach at Real Madrid CF, working with Iker Casillas, Thibaut Courtois, Keylor Navas, Luca Zidane, among others, and being part of Julen Lopetegui’s coaching staff.
International Growth:
Focusing on the US market, particularly on the West Coast, the Academy aims to develop new programs and opportunities to strengthen the extensive youth football community in the country.
